Omladina Takes the Stage in Strážnice, Czech Republic

In June 2025, United Moravian Societies' Omladina Dance Group had the incredible honor of performing at the 80th International Folklore Festival in Strážnice, Czech Republic, one of Europe's oldest and most celebrated folk festivals. Representing the Czech and Moravian community of Chicago, our dancers proudly brought generations of tradition back to the homeland, sharing their unique Chicago-Czech folk dance style on an international stage.

This unforgettable journey was more than a performance—it was a celebration of our heritage, a chance to connect with dancers and cultural groups from around the world, and a meaningful opportunity to strengthen our ties to the traditions we work so hard to preserve. Made possible through the generosity of our community and supporters, the trip marked a proud milestone in UMS history and created memories that will last a lifetime.
